Fall 2025 - Community Foundation Visit

On a beautiful day in late September, SCDHC had the opportunity to showcase our services and our ongoing construction projects at the Hollands development to a generous group of donors from the Community Foundation for a greater Richmond. We are always thrilled to welcome our supporters onsite and show them firsthand the tangible impact their contributions are making in the communities we serve.

Our morning began with coffee and introductions, followed by a brief presentation from SCDHC program directors Cierra Frye and Robbie Franklin, Twandra Lomax-Brown (Board Chair), and Dianna Bowser (President & CEO). Then, we piled in the SCDHC company van and led our Community Foundation partners through SCDHC’s new townhomes at the Hollands, just minutes from our Richmond office. Jim Chambers, Director of Housing Programs, guided the group through multiple homes in the end-stages of construction, keeping everyone laughing and engaged through stories and insights to the affordable housing development process.

SCDHC’s housing development model is one-of-a-kind, combining the highest quality construction with wraparound support services for first time homebuyers through HUD-certified housing counseling programs and access to grants and subsidies, like down payment assistance.
