June is National Homeownership Month! This month, we honor stories like that of Mr. and Mrs. E, and the safety and stability homeownership provides.
Mr. and Mrs. E are a hardworking couple with two daughters who dreamed of a better future for their family while battling negative rental conditions. Rather than continue navigating an unstable housing environment, they committed to pursuing homeownership.
Their loan officer introduced Mr. and Mrs. E to a down payment assistance program, and they completed housing counseling and education at SCDHC. They describe the assistance as a “true blessing” that made their dream a reality.
Mr. and Mrs. E’s advice is to take the homebuying process seriously and truly commit to the goal. Focus and determination are worth it; they now feel a strong sense of growth and security. Where they once faced uncertainty, Mr. and Mrs. E now feel confident and optimistic about their future.
